Ruven Afandor
Ruven Afandor is considered one of the leading photographers working in celebrity and fashion photography. With his work appearing in most Major Fashion Magazines, his commercial clients include Arista, Cacharel, Christian Dior, & Elektra et al.
In 2001, after his work first began attracting attention, he published his first book, Torero. of which Within a year was sold out and became a collector’s item within the fashion world. Sombra, another of Afandor’s works was inspired by still life tableaus, & was published by Merrell in 2004.
Recently a public exhibition displaying a collection of photos by the photographer Ruven Afanador has been seen on display. Titled ‘Mil Besos’ (‘A Thousand Kisses’) which Afandor has also published in book form. Using his home country for inspiration, with the larger than life women and dramatic, flamenco styling.
His work shows intense imagery of which is distinctly inspired, & with an interesting high contrast of colourful and grainy Black & white images.
